These are words to quite a well known song, however, today I find myself sitting and mulling over these words...
They are so apt to what I am feeling and going through at the moment, and I thought that I might write them down, and remind you of these words too.
The only way out of any problematic situation is to go through it- you have to face you problems head on and if possible, with the most positive attitude and brave face you can muster up at the time. Now, all being well, it is very easy to say this in a time of distress, it is so easy to pass on words of advice and encouragement, however, following through with it is another story.
That is why I am reminding myself, over and over like a mantra, that there will be light at the end of my tunnel, I just have to be brave enough to start walking through it, as dark as it seems right now.

Feeling uninspired?
I have been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, I don't really want to talk about it at the moment, however, all I will say is I have been really down in the dumps....
This morning I sat down at my desk with my cup of coffee, and opened my mail- same as every morning. There was an email with a link: http://www.leader.co.za/article.aspx?s=43&f=1&a=3090
After bursting into tears, I realized I couldn't help but share this beautiful piece of inspiration.
So, if you are feeling anything close to what I was feeling, or just need a "pick me up" for the day, watch this video.
Enjoy xxx

This too shall pass
For those of you that know me, you will know that I have a tattoo on my wrist with the words "This too shall pass." These words are some what of a motto in life, the words I live by.
Not everyone knows what they mean, so I thought I would share this story with you:
One day, King Solomon set a task for his advisers. They had six months to find a ring. This ring would have the power to make a happy man sad, and a sad man happy. A 'magical' ring.
His advisers spent a few months searching, but did so in vain. Until one of his advisers, Benaiah, stumbled upon a merchant whilst walking in the market place.
“Have you by any chance heard of a magic ring that makes the happy wearer forget his joy and the broken-hearted wearer forget his sorrows?” asked Benaiah
Benaiah watched as the man took a golden ring from his pocket, and when he read the words inscribed on the inside of the ring- he couldn't help but smile.
Benaiah and the advisers all came back to the king at the end of the six months.
"Well, my friend,” said Solomon, “have you found what I sent you after?” All the ministers laughed and Solomon himself smiled.
To everyone’s surprise, Benaiah held up a small gold ring and declared, “Here it is, your majesty!”
As soon as Solomon read the inscription, the smile vanished from his face. The jeweler had written three Hebrew letters on the gold band: gimel, zayin, yud, which began the words “Gam zeh ya’avor” — “This too shall pass.” At that moment Solomon realized that all his wisdom and fabulous wealth and tremendous power were but fleeting things, for one day he would be nothing but dust.”
The moral of the story is that nothing lasts forever. No pain, no sorrow, and no happiness.
I use these words to remember, that no matter what it is I am going through- it is merely temporary. So I try and remind myself to enjoy the moments of joy, love, laughter, happiness, and that no 'storm' lasts forever.

My very first post!
I suppose I should start off this first post by telling you a little about myself...
I'm 24, used to live in Joburg, and have relocated to Ballito (Durban) about 7 months ago. So far my life here has been filled with ups and downs, new experiences and challenges. Ultimately, I came here for the pursuit of happiness.
Below I have added some quotes I thought were too cute for words. They brightened up my day, and hopefully they brighten up yours too! :)
